After months of searching for a decent company to install the sump pump in a crawl space, I have finally found America’s Basement Contractor. I had a terrible problem with water coming in my basement this past spring. Beginning in April 2017, I had water seeping in from the bottom of my basement walls 24 hours a day, every day. It was exhausting – my wife and I could barely leave the house for work because we had towels at several areas around the perimeter of the basement that had to be changed every few hours due to the amount of water intake. When we got to a point that we had bought 40+ towels and they still couldn’t contain the water in the basement, and we were constantly moving them from the floor, to the washer (spin-drain), to the dryer, we were at our wits end and decided we needed to bring in a professional. We got multiple quotes for our basement waterproofing. ABC not only beat the competitor’s price, but they included a wall covering that the competitors didn’t. In addition, they didn’t hound us and play pricing games. We are happy to support a family owned local business; the owners seemed very genuine and down to earth. The work crew completed the work in 2 days – they were fantastic. Worked well together and worked HARD. They obviously knew what they were doing. One guy whistled a tune as he carried buckets of concrete out of our basement – this is a sign of a contented person. The foreman communicated with us throughout the project and all the guys were respectful of our home. We hope to never need the warranty, but we’re glad to have it. Overall thrilled to have this project behind us and we know we took a chance on the right company.

My mother’s basement was damp, musty, and showing signs of mold growth. I chose ABC because of the positive reviews and the fact they are local. My mother and I met with Ethan and he was forthcoming, knowlegable, willing to explain things in easy to understand terms and completely up front with all costs. ABC sent out an amazing team who worked quickly, thoroughly, respected our property and were very professional. In 2 days time, everything was completed and they even gave me a free T-shirt!! It has been just over a year since the work was done. This has been a very wet summer for us and we are so glad we had the work done. We found this company by looking at all the positive reviewers online. Unfortunately we bought a house that the previous owners put an addition on themselves and they did not properly install the foundation. The walls were cracking and bowing. We got an estimate from a excavation company who wanted to remove ALL the basement walls, not just the 2 bad ones for 26k!!!! I don’t know anyone who can afford that! We got an estimate from a masonry company who wanted 10k for one wall. Then, we met Jack from America’s Basement Contractor. He demonstrated the utmost professionalism. He provided a quote which was very reasonable for Wall Anchors. We later received a call from Carl, the owner, stating he went over the estimate and we were quoted for more than we actually need to have done. I have never had an owner of a company contact us to provide this service! The work was completed today and it was determined an additional anchor was needed. The foreman called Carl and there was no additional charge for this. This is a family owned company. If they do not immediately answer, leave a message and they will return your call and you will be glad they did! I will recommend them to my friends and family. This company does not advertise because their work and professionalism speak for itself!

This is my first experience of going out on my own for a contractor without any help from the males in my family. America’s basement staff from the formen, to the owner and all the labor’s, treated me with kindness, even with me asking questions over and over again . My basement flooded and the whole finished basement was destroyed. The first person I met was Jack and he walked me through the whole process of what a French drain and sump pump does. I called for an estimate when my basement was taking on water and was very well educated on the process and never pressured to hire. The estimate was clear, concise and very reasonable. The team of young men who arrived not only worked very hard, I was impressed with the pride they seemed to take in their work. Upon completion of the project, the foreman took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. Even the clean up was well done. I am very pleased. A few weeks after the job was finished, there was a torrential downpour and flooding on our road. I did not have a drop of water in my basement and believe me, I kept checking because I was so nervous about the water. It was dry!! Excellent job, amazing results. I interviewed quite a few contractors before going with America’s Basement Contractors. I was impressed with their evaluation of my problem, the materials that they use and their customer service. The work was started when promised and completed on time despite running into an unforeseen problem. The workers were very polite and cleaned up as well as can be expected. I definitely recommend!

We recently purchased a cottage on the French Creek the foundation was in much need of repair. Neighbors recommended American Basement Contractors. We had this company give us an estimate and hired them for the job. They were very knowledgeable and informative on what was needed. They started the job as scheduled worked very professionally. As this was not our residence we were not there daily. When we did check on the progress we were VERY pleased. We were also contacted by phone of the progress. As with all construction jobs the process was messy we were concerned about how the property would be left. We were asked to meet the job foreman to approve the completed job. The final results were more than we expected 18 cement supports were installed on the outer perimeter 3 brick supports in the center. The original cottage was built in 1929 and added onto twice. The additions were not properly supported or connected to the original structure. They replaced the ENTIRE wooden frame with treated lumber and removed the untreated 2x4s that were originally used. The results are amazing. The cottage will outlast the next 5 generations of our family. When we were given the cost of the job we thought it was excess. After seeing the results and knowing the price of the products used and the time the job took we now feel that the price was more than fair. We would gladly recommend this company to anyone. The work site was left very clean and the ground area needed very little clean up. With a little raking grass seed could be applied.

This company came out and did a professional assessment of our basement water/humidity problems. There was no hard sell, just a discussion of what our problem was and how to solve it. The crew was also polite, respectful and competent. Finally, a service company that is on time and as good as their word.

I hired ABC for my terracotta basement waterproofing. We checked out 3 different companies and quickly discovered each has their own system, method and great range on prices. I ultimately chose ABC because they were knowledgeable, did not pressure, accessible and middle of the road for price (low company seemed too sketchy…high company had persistent pressure salesman which turned me off right away but then kept calling to offer me discounts). They even had a bank I could work with to get a loan with very attractive terms. The work was done on time and as clean as one could expect with this kind of construction. I think they greatly appreciated that I prepped the basement exactly as they told me – after all, I would rather move my stuff than have strangers in a hurry do it. I did have to clean up the basement after the work since they just broom swept, but I was expecting this and you should as well. Immediately after installation was complete, major rains came, and……absolutely not a single drop of water in the basement! I am so confident in the system that I have started finishing the basement much sooner than expected (I was planning to wait through winter and spring to see how the system worked). My opinion, do your due diligence with basement waterproofing, but make darn sure that ABC is on your list to give you a quote. They will probably be middle of the road for cost, but that’s because they know what they are doing and are fully insured. I trust them so much that I will likely have them do work at my bed and breakfast in the near future.

I did my homework by interviewing several basement water-proofing companies. One company stood out during the interviews and I called them back for a second interview to cement my decision. ABC Basement Contractors not only did the job to my expectations, but went over and above. They took all the precautions while doing the basement as far as keeping the dust and dirt down. They used upgraded components compared to the products shown to me by other companies. And when they left, there wasn’t any dust, dirt, or debris evidence that they were even there. I have another job to do…and I skipped the whole interview process and went right to ABC to do the job!

They charged me for 2 feet more than they actually worked on, and they thought it would take all day for the job so they charged accordingly in the estimate, but they were only here for 3 hours. otherwise, the guys were very professional and they cleaned up well.

I called Carl for an estimate on fixing a water problem in the basement of a house I was considering buying. He called me back promptly, arranged to look at the basement, and was punctual and professional. He gave me his opinion on what the problems were (inadequate drainage system), pointed out the mold that was growing on the beams, suggested the home use a larger dehumidifier, and gave me a written estimate of the cost of remedying the situation. Based on his recommendations, I decided the basement problems were more than I wanted to deal with in this house. However, Carl performed this service at NO COST to me, based on the promise that I would contract him for the job, should I decide to go ahead with the purchase.

Got the entire job complete in one day which I was pleased with. Explained the entire process and answered any questions I may have in the future regarding this system. Did a great job in the basement, everything looks excellent, and was done efficiently. Only complaint is they dumped some excess concrete down by my fence in the backyard. That should have been put in their truck.

The appraiser, Joe, was early, nice, professional and straightforward. The price on the appraisal was the price we paid. We dealt with Melanie for scheduling, and she was organized and professional. The work was done on schedule within 10 days of the quote. There was a snag when a pipe in the basement floor (where the main drain for the house entered the floor) cracked because of nearby work and leaked slightly. However, once we called Melanie, she immediately had the president of the company call us back. They returned immediately and fixed it. We would definitely use this company again because of their promptness and professionalism.

My moisture-filled crawl space was leaving the rest of my home smelling damp and musty. You guys came out and installed a crawl space encapsulation system that really worked! Now I don’t have a wet crawl space to worry about or the potential for mold growth!

It went very well. The guys were very professional and careful with our walls in main area of house when bringing jack hammered material out of basement. There is a lot of residual dust in basement which need to get cleaned. The only complaint I have is that the furnace was not wrapped during the drilling and the junk that had been air made it into our furnance electrostatic filters. I would encourage folks to use them, but to put plastic up around main house doorways so the dust is minimal in rest of house. Also anything left in basement REALLY needs to be taped up well. Lots of fine particle dust.

In our 20 year old sun room extension to our house, cracks appeared in the brick and concrete foundation and opened about 3/8 inch in ~3 months. In a prompt response to my panic call, they proposed installing 5 steel piers to raise the sunken portion back to normal. The trench opened to install the piers revealed that bedrock depths varied from about one to many feet deep at the best pier sites and that the original foundation had been set on viscous clays so that simple steel piers would be unreliable. A.J. designed instead concrete pillars to be in deep pits with rebar extending deeper down through the clay some feet to bedrock. Jacks were then set on the concrete pillars to lift lengths of 4×4 angle steel for support under the old foundation. The jacks were then buried in concrete up to the bottom of the old foundation for permanence. J.P. explained the design and had the borough engineer’s approval and mine before the installation. They used plywood on the lawn to hold the excavated rock and soil and neatly recovered as much landscaping as feasible when finished and carried away the wastes. During the 3 working days needed (more than the 2 in their estimate), they stayed on schedule and charged no extra for the more involved repairs used compared to the early pier design. I am impressed by their experience-based expertise and their flexibility in finding the best method.

Over all the work went well and the problem was fixed in a timely manner. It has rained a number of times since installation and there has been no leaking. I have heard the sump pump running. When the leak was first apparent I thought It had been a one time thing due to an extremely hard rain. I wet vaccumed and dried out the carpet. it rained several more times and the problem got worse, by the time I realized I had a major problem the black mold was climbing up the wall above my chest of drawers, at the bottom all down one wall and into a closet where it proceeded to cover everything. This all happened in a very short time, about 3 weeks. When I called America’s Basement Contractor they were booked for over a month. I asked Melanie if she could put me on a cancellation list which she did. She called me the next day and had a crew working in four days. I would not hesitate to reccomend them to anyone I know.

After I contacted, they came out quickly and gave bid. After I accepted, they work in timely manner. I had to co-ordinate their work with plumber and was able to do so easily with them. Everything went smoothly.

They finished the job in the end of September. It is completely guaranteed for the next 10 years as being waterproof. With all the rain we have had, we had no water. We needed it because it was very wet before that. I was worried at first, but they did a fabulous job. It was pretty expensive, but we needed it before all the rain and snow started so that’s why we went with them. We have not had any leaks despite all of the inches and inches of rain. They were here when they said they would be. I would use them again in the future and I would absolutely recommend them.

There work was fine. They were professional. They showed up on time. It was done at a reasonable cost. What they stated in their quote was what they did. I strongly recommend them.

We still don’t know what to do that because we called the two top rated companies, and they gave us completely different recommendations. Insofar as their punctuality and professionalism, they were excellent.

Waterproofed a storage area under our front door, replaced the entire concrete deck at front door. Carl was excellent to work with. While the concrete work was technically outside his company’s scope, he worked with a local concrete expert that was also excellent. All work was performed in a professional and timely manner. All construction materials were cleaned up and removed from our property. All work was performed as agreed with no subsequent price adjustments. I’d gladly use them again.
